As you can see from the portfolio our design varies with our clients, project scope, architecture, and price parameters.
A typical process will begin with a consultation meeting with Danyelle and the project owners. This consultation gives a wide vision for the project and allows the team the opportunity to determine if this will be a strong collaboration. A project scope is discussed.
18+ years of design experience from architecture plans and construction to high end finishes and furnishings.
Next is the vision phase.
My clients provide me with inspiration photos from multiple forms of media, items that are dear to them, site photos of views & light. All information that I am provided helps to build your vision, I have had clients provide me with photos of items they did not like. We will generate a genre or overall feeling for your spaces. We will establish preferences such as scale, flow & desired function of spaces. Color & material preferences. You can show a lot of people a picture and they will understand in general terms but if you share that picture with me I will adjust and scale that vision to your specific scale and aesthetic.
Material Specification
This is one of my favorite times. This is when your project starts to invade even my sleeping moments. We breathe life into your desire for the things that will surround you. I analyze any impacts the proposed scope may have on surrounding items such as flooring & ceiling transitions, mechanical systems, exterior architecture, and landscaping (all of the, not so sexy, stuff that we don’t want to become after-thoughts). I craft the vision that has been unfolded as I have continuously walked through your space dimensionally in my head. Materials are selected using my exhaustive library of resources, other tradesmen on your team, and visits to material showrooms.
Presentation.
At this time we will go over the big-picture scheme for the project an dive in to the individual details that make the vision whole. We will refine the vision, get more detailed on the selections. Specification lists are created. Trades are able to generate solid bids for the design items. For project based/cost custom ground-up residential and for all commercial projects a design specification book is produced for the builder and client so that all pieces of the vision are clearly organized and accounted for. These books are complete down to the details of thickness, manufacturer, and color of grout for tile. Clients who have opted for an hourly based project have this option available to them. My involvement does not end here. This is the point when I can say that I truly am in the details! I have the time, experience, and technical/mechanical understanding to benefit every detail that is installed. Relationships with the clients and all of the trades make for a successful outcome. My architects & builders are a big part of my repeat and referral client base.
